Recently a complete packaging solution was delivered to a customer on Prince Edward Island, Canada. The installation is a strong example of the cooperation between IMA Ilapak and Manter together with Volm Companies, combining advanced vertical packaging technology with high-precision weighing systems for fresh produce. The line features the Vegatronic 2000 ML, integrated with a MD12 to deliver a fully synchronized packaging process for vegetables and fruits.
Dual Packaging Flexibility
The Vegatronic 2000 ML is engineered for versatility in modern packaging environments. It supports both poly and paper-based pillow bags, enabling producers to respond to changing market demands and sustainability requirements. For standard poly pillow bags, the system reaches a consistent output of 50 bags per minute. When running paper pillow bags, performance adjusts to approximately 40 bags per minute due to the different material characteristics and sealing requirements. This flexibility allows one machine to cover multiple packaging strategies without compromising reliability.
Efficient Integration with weighing
At the core of the line is the MD12 multihead weigher, which ensures a continuous and precise product feed into the forming tube. This stable product flow is essential for maintaining consistent bag weight and minimizing product waste. The integration between weighing and forming system is fully synchronized, supporting high uptime and smooth operation even during extended production runs.
Sealing, Cutting and Control
Once filled, each bag is sealed and cooled before being separated by an integrated knife system. This ensures clean bag division and a professional finish for both poly and paper formats. The intuitive touchscreen interface provides operators with real-time insights into machine performance, diagnostics, and production statistics, enabling fast adjustments and efficient line control. Together, these systems create a robust and user-friendly packaging solution for demanding production environments.
