We introduced the updated version of our Punnet Filler during the Fruit Logistica in Berlin earlier this year. The Punnet Filler is not only made for filling punnets and trays, but can also be used for filling clamshells and small boxes. We would like to show you how this works based on a recent installation of a new packing line at Harang Farming Association (Jeonbuk, South Korea).
Installation Punnet Filler (+)
The difference between the Punnet Filler and the Plus(+) version is in the way the punnets or clamshells are fed onto the conveyor. The Punnet Filler is equipped with a flighted conveyor belt. The clamshells are automatically de-nested in pairs at a time and placed between the flights on the belt (synchronised placement). Weights range from 600 g to 1500 g.

Expanded Production
Harang already has a M12 V with clamshell filler and box filler. Due to the need for more production capacity, Harang invested in a M16i V combination weigher with the new Punnet Filler for clamshells on one side, and the Punnet Filler+, for open boxes, on the other side of the weigher. This new line is designed to mainly process cherry tomatoes.
How the Punnet Filler+ Works
The + version has a flat conveyor belt and can handle both synchronised and asynchronised feeding of punnets due to its built-in synchronisation mechanism that alings the punnets under the funnels of the weigher discharge. At Harang, an automatic box folding machine feeds the open boxes onto the back side of the conveyor one by one (Asynchronised placement). Stoppers hold the boxes and create a buffer, the boxes are filled in pairs at a time. At the end of the Box Filler is another machine that applies a top seal film to seal the box. Weights range from 2 kg to 4 kg.
