Together with our dealer for the Benelux, Sarco Packaging B.V., Manter delivered not one, but ultimately four new machine lines to Kivits Logistics Group. The lines were delivered to various companies within the group, namely Kivits Goes Handling, VGK Cool Logistics and Rotterdam Fruit Wharf. Kivits is a renowned company that focuses on packaging citrus fruits for the consumer market. They wanted to expand their capacity and increase efficiency by purchasing Manter’s weighing and packaging lines.
Why Manter
Kivits chose Manter because of the excellent references in the market for packaging citrus in consumer packaging. After several discussions and visiting references from the market, the choice fell on a Manter weighing and packaging line. Even before the installation of the first new machine line at Kivits Goes, it was decided to purchase three additional weighing and packaging lines for the sister companies VGK Cool Logistics and RFW (Rotterdam Fruit Wharf).
Packaging line
Each machine line consists of an MD16 D multihead weigher in combination with two Clipper M3 machines for packaging citrus fruits (oranges, lemons/limes and mandarins). These consumer packages vary from 500 grams to approximately 3 kg and can be found in the fresh produce department of various supermarkets. The supplied weighing and packaging lines are unique because of their high capacity. By using dosing and weighing buckets in combination with a quadruple high-speed discharge system, the weigher can send the portions of product to the packaging machines very quickly. In addition, the cleanability of the weigher that processes the product has been taken into account. A clean machine is very important these days due to regulations regarding food safety. The machines have now been working to full satisfaction for more than half a year. Manter wishes all 3 sister companies much success with the new packaging lines and thanks them for the pleasant cooperation.
