This impressive line consists of an MD12 multihead weigher with two AutoMesh units underneath, followed by an AutoMesh Baler. The line produces 2.5 kg and 5 kg mesh bags containing washed or brushed potatoes. During the bag-closing process, a tape or card can be added and neatly integrated by stitching it directly onto the bag. After filling, the bags are conveyed to a singulation system, which transports them individually to the AutoMesh Baler. There, they are combined into a larger mesh outer bag.
Speed ​​of the line
During the test run at our factory, we achieved a speed of 41 bags per minute, despite the presence of the singulation unit. This fully meets the customer’s speed requirement.
Presets and adjustments
The customer uses the AutoMesh Baler with two different presets: 8 x 2.5 kg and 4 x 5 kg in a single bag. When changing a preset, the operator must adjust the conveyor height, the vertical burner, and the hot hand at the end, which separate the pre-made bags in two steps. Furthermore, with the AutoMesh, the mesh roll must be replaced due to the two different bag sizes. With the AutoMesh+, the advanced version of the AutoMesh, the adjustment is fully automated.
Two lines delivered in one year
Earlier this year, we also supplied the same customer with a bulk packaging line for potatoes in 25 kg mesh bags and 40 kg PP-woven bags. This line consists of an MD14 XL with two AutoMesh units and a SemiPack+, which can be reached via a belt over an AutoMesh.
