About La Invernada
With a production facility of 25,000m2 and 1,200 hectares of walnut orchards distributed in nine different properties. La Invernada exports all over the world: 28 countries in 5 continents. The production process is highly organized and mechanized, covering several stages:
- Harvest: Occurs in March and April in Chile using advanced machinery and expert guidance for optimal quality.
- Hulling and Drying: Conducted in the field or at facilities to maintain quality and safety by achieving perfect drying.
- In-Shell Line: Uses modern optical and manual sorting to process up to 10 tons per hour, packing nuts by size and quality. Shelling Line: Fully mechanized for maximum efficiency and quality.
- Laser Sorting: Combines laser technology and manual checks to ensure clean, safe products.
- Quality Control: Continuous monitoring and inspections guarantee high standards.
- Packing: Products are packed in modified atmosphere bags to prevent oxidation and rancidity.
Upgraded packaging line
Previously, a manual bagger and single-head weigher were used to pack the walnuts. The investment in a new packaging line increases capacity and reduces labor costs, resulting in a very short payback period.
